Every so often Volkswagen facelift, tweak, remaster and relaunch their much-loved Golf. VWs hot hatch has always been and will continue to be a “driver’s” car, with its GTI and R models topping the range. For over 30 years, Ogilvy South Africa have become famous for making emotional and classic brand films that authentically connect with consumers. In 2008, it was my turn. Under the international positioning of “For the love of the drive”, I told a story that would make a Cheetah and his rescuer famous. Because of this ad, the public raised over 2 million Rand for the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
