Halls UFO
In 2007 Cadburys approached Ogilvy to create a brand ad that would grab consumers by the collar. Halls cough drops, especially the menthol and eucalyptus flavour, are a popular sweet among South Africans. Although they had no medicinal properties, they do clear nasal passages and sooth scratchy throats. The word “Voetsek” is a colloquial term for “get out of here quickly”. One of the best moments of my career was when I witnessed people in bars and on streets reenacting my ad.
